What is it?
The Competitors screen compares your brand with the competitors you track. You find it under AI Intelligence in your Prism sidebar. Its subtitle reads: "Side-by-side LLM performance — mentions, citations, best platform and trend per tracked competitor."
For each brand you see its AI Visibility, mentions, citations, best platform and rank.
Why use it?
- To see who leads AI answers in your market.
- To find which platform each competitor wins on.
- To read the answers where a competitor appears and you do not.
Before you start
Competitors are part of the LLM project setup. An admin adds them in the project form. See Set up an LLM project.
How to use it
Open Competitors
In the sidebar, open AI Intelligence, then click Competitors.
Set your filters
Pick a project and a date. Filter by platform or category, then click Apply.
Compare the brands
Read the Competitor Breakdown table. Your brand is tagged You. Click AI VISIBILITY or TOTAL MENTIONS to sort.
Drill into a brand
Click View → on a row to open Brand Visibility for that brand.
Understanding the screen
Leader cards
Each card shows the brand and a line like 55.0% Visibility · 40 Mentions.
- MARKET LEADER — the brand with the highest AI visibility. This can be your own brand.
- WEAKEST COMPETITOR — the competitor with the lowest AI visibility. Your brand is not included here.
Competitor Visibility Trends
A line chart of each brand's visibility across the dates that have data. The sub-line shows the dates, for example Brand vs Competitors · Oct 1 – Oct 15, 2026.
Competitor Breakdown
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| BRAND | The brand name. Yours is tagged You. |
| AI VISIBILITY | Hover text: "Percentage of prompts where the brand was mentioned across all AI platforms." Green at 50% or more, amber at 25% or more, red below 25%. |
| TOTAL MENTIONS | Hover text: "Total brand mentions across prompt answers." |
| CITATIONS | Hover text: "Total source pages cited for this brand." These are pages from the brand's own website. An arrow shows the change against the previous date. |
| BEST PLATFORM | The platform where this brand is named most often, with its visibility there, for example ChatGPT (42%). |
| RANK | The brand's place when all brands are sorted by AI visibility, for example #1. |
| TREND | Change in AI visibility against the previous date with data, in percentage points, for example ↑ +5%. |
| VIEW | View → opens Brand Visibility filtered to that brand. |
Understanding the data
AI Visibility
The percentage of AI answers that name your brand. One answer is one prompt on one AI platform; answers Prism could not collect are left out.
Appears in: AI Intelligence
Prism counts one answer per prompt per platform. A brand's AI VISIBILITY = answers that name the brand ÷ all answers collected. TOTAL MENTIONS is the number of answers that name the brand.
Citations
Web pages that an AI answer lists as its sources.
Appears in: AI Intelligence → Citations
Example
For example, the MARKET LEADER card shows competitor A at 55%. Your row shows 35% and RANK #2. Competitor A's BEST PLATFORM is ChatGPT. You click View → on their row and read the ChatGPT answers. You notice the answers cite their comparison guides. That gives you an idea for new content.
Tips
- Compare CITATIONS with AI VISIBILITY. A brand with many citations has pages that AI tools trust as sources.
- Check the TREND column after you publish new content.
- Use the category filter to see who leads each topic.
Common issues
| Message | What to do |

| Select an LLM project to view competitors. | Pick a project in the filter bar. |

What does View do in the Competitor Breakdown table?

Which row is my brand?
Your own brand is tagged You in the table.
