Troubleshooting Updated

Common Issues

Quick fixes for the problems people hit most: empty reports, the wrong project, missing pages and Unified Dashboard cards with no numbers.

Most problems have a simple fix. Find your problem below. If it is not here, look at the detailed guides for data, connections, sign-in and features.

My reports are empty

Why it happens: Google Search Console or Google Analytics 4 is not connected for this project. Or it is connected, but the first sync has not finished yet.

How to fix it:

  1. Check that the right project is selected in the project switcher at the top of the screen.
  2. Open SystemIntegrations & MCP.
  3. Check that the Google cards show ● Connected.
  4. If a card shows + Available, click its connect button and follow the steps. See Connect your data.
  5. After you connect, wait for the first sync. Prism loads up to 180 days of history.

What to check next: if a card shows ⚠ Needs attention, see Connection issues. Rank tracking and AI screens need a tracking project instead. See Feature issues.

I am looking at the wrong project

Why it happens: Prism shows data for one project at a time. The project in the switcher at the top decides what every report shows.

How to fix it:

  1. Click the Current Project switcher in the top bar.
  2. Type part of the name in "Search projects…".
  3. Click the project you want.

What to check next: rank tracking and AI Intelligence screens also have their own Project dropdown in the filter bar. Check that too.

A Unified Dashboard card shows no numbers

A card on the Unified Dashboard shows a badge and a message instead of numbers.

BadgeMessage you seeWhy it happensHow to fix it
Not assigned"No Google SERP project is assigned to this master project." (or another channel)The channel is not part of your project.Click Request access.
No access"You don't have access to … for this master project."The channel is in the project, but your admin has hidden it from you.Click Request access, or ask your admin.
No data"A … project is assigned, but it has no data for the selected date range."Nothing was checked in your dates.Pick a longer range in the top bar, such as Last 28 days or Last 1 year.
Not connected"No Google Analytics or Search Console property is connected to this master project."No Google property is connected.Click Connect now to open Integrations & MCP.

What to check next: after you click Request access, the button shows where your request stands. See Feature issues and Request access to a module.

Composite Visibility shows no score

The strip says "No channel in this master project has recent ranking data yet."

Why it happens: Composite Visibility is the average of each channel's latest visibility. It only counts channels that have data in your date range. If no channel has data, there is nothing to average.

How to fix it:

  1. Pick a longer range in the top bar, such as Last 1 year.
  2. Check that your project has at least one ranking or AI tracking project. Your admin sets these up in Project settings.
  3. If a project was just created, wait for its first check.

What to check next: the line next to the score, such as Average across 4 of 6 channels with recent data, tells you how many channels count. See Unified Dashboard.

My date range went back to Last 28 days

Why it happens: The Unified Dashboard always opens on Last 28 days. Your choice is not saved when you reload the page.

How to fix it:

  1. Click the date range button in the top bar.
  2. Pick Last 7 days, Last 1 year or Custom range again.

What to check next: GA4 and Search Console numbers use a window of the same length that ends three days before today. See Date ranges and Compare.

The newest days look low

Why it happens: Google needs time to finish each day's numbers. Prism's data runs through two days ago. Report ranges end three days before today.

How to fix it:

  1. Wait a day or two. The numbers fill in.
  2. Compare full periods, not the last day or two.

What to check next: see Data issues for how the sync works.

A list does not add up to the total

Why it happens: Search Console hides some queries and pages for privacy. Prism shows that part as (not set) so totals match Search Console.

How to fix it:

  1. Nothing is broken. Look for the (not set) row at the end of the table.
  2. Read (not set) explained to learn more.

What to check next: GA4 and Search Console numbers also differ for other reasons. See Data issues.

A page is missing from my sidebar

Why it happens: Each member sees only the modules turned on for the project, minus any page limits set for them. Viewers also see only the Google SERP and LLM child projects an admin has granted. The Unified Dashboard and Integrations & MCP are always there.

How to fix it:

  1. Check that you picked the right project.
  2. Ask your project admin to change your page access or child project access.
  3. If the module is not in your project at all, use Request access on the Unified Dashboard.

What to check next: if you see "This module isn't available", see Feature issues.

I can't find Settings in the sidebar

Why it happens: Settings in the System group opens the Client panel. Only project admins and owners see it.

How to fix it:

  1. Ask your project owner whether you need the admin role.
  2. To change your own password or profile, use the account menu instead. Click the gear icon next to your name at the bottom of the sidebar.

What to check next: see Roles and permissions.

A section is still loading

Why it happens: On the Analytics screen, the lower sections load only when you scroll down to them. You may see messages such as "Loading device breakdown…" for a moment.

How to fix it:

  1. Scroll to the section and wait a few seconds.
  2. If it still does not load, refresh the page.

What to check next: if Prism sends you to the sign-in page, your 8-hour sign-in has ended. See Login issues.

Frequently asked questions

Why are all my reports empty?

Usually Google Search Console or Google Analytics 4 is not connected for the selected project, or the first sync has not finished. Check the Integrations & MCP screen.

What do Not assigned, No access, No data and Not connected mean on the Unified Dashboard?

Not assigned means the channel is not in your project. No access means it is hidden from you. No data means nothing was checked in your dates. Not connected means no Google property is connected.

Why can't I see a page in the sidebar?

You only see the modules turned on for the project, minus any page limits your admin set. Ask your admin, or use Request access on the Unified Dashboard.
